About the 2009 Mazda 3

The 2009 Mazda 3 is the last model year for the first generation Mazda 3 and the most fully featured one yet. With luxury features like a Bose sound system, adjustable HID headlights, optional SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and, new for 2009, remote trunk release, the 2009 Mazda 3 is a very capable and affordable luxury featured car in the compact segment.

Changes for 2009 Model Year

The 2009 Mazda 3 model year changes include a number of carryovers from the 2008.5 mid-year Mazda 3 refresh as well as new additions to model trims.

For example, the 2009 Mazda 3 now offers many more standard features on the Mazda 3i Touring Value model like standard ABS/SAB/SAC, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights and four new exterior colors to choose from: Metropolitan Gray, Stormy Blue, Copper Red and Golden Sand. Metropolitan Gray was added as a 2008.5 color and joins the returning Stormy Blue and Copper Red Mazda 3 colors.

In addition to other carryover features from the mid-year refresh like standard power driver’s seat on both four and five door s Grand Touring Mazda 3s, the 2009 Mazda 3 also adds a Mazda 3 first: remote trunk release on the key fob of all four door models equipped with keyless entry.

Aurora Blue, Shimmering Sand, Phantom Purple, Rally White, Phantom Blue and Cosmic Blue have been deleted

New or enhanced for 2009:

MAZDA3 i Sport model receives standard SAC/SAB/ABS
Remote trunk release function added to key fob of 4-Door models equipped with keyless entry (i Touring Value and all 4-Door models)
Icy Blue exterior color has been deleted

Overall it’s really just an experience that new car buyers have to try to believe because it’s extremely uncommon at this price point. I’m finally excited to drive to different places just to be in the car and I love everything about it! If you don’t own one, buy one. If you own one, buy a 2008.5 model! The new trim, power driver’s seat, gauges and everything in between are worth it.

Exterior Design:

On top end 2008.5 Mazda 3 s GT models the car is outfitted with more aggressive styling cues like a body colored split grille, sportier bumper design, clear LED taillights and all-season tires wrapped around 17-inch alloy wheels. With a combination of sharp edges and flowing body lines typically found on entry level luxury cars, the Mazda3 is a real head turner and is often mistaken as a car that cost $30,000 or more.
