Intake options **K&N OR off other brand

would you choose the K&N cold air intake or the short ram Intake from another brand. they both are on amazon. ive read up on the difference for both of them, but I was hoping to get some feedback from people who have installed them already.

I'm not saying not to mod your car but the engineers actually do a pretty dang good job with intakes now days. Many cars (not sure about the Mazda3s) loose performance across most of the rev range except for at the very top end where you spend very little time.

As noted by @arathol and @downs , that there is very little, if any performance improvement for air intakes. Years ago, there was a real and deserved market for a better aftermarket air intake, but OEM's realized and fixed this low hanging fruit.

Nowadays, not much sense in replacing the intake, that is unless you want more intake air "whooshing" sound.
downs likes this.

2017 Mazda 3 GT hatch: Soul Red Metallic with Black interior, manual: Premium Equipment pkg, customized OEM Appearance Pkg; iActivSense Pkg, add'l OEM options.
