rim offset questions

Looking at getting a set of f1r f18's for my 08 speed 3. They say they come in a 18x 8.5 +38 offset. Or a 17 x 9 +38. I've read my car can only run a rim with an offset of 42-50 without any modifications. Just wondering if either of those rim sizes will fit my car with that low of an offset? Any info would be great thanks guys

Lower offset just means the wheel will be pushed out more. It will fit, but the edge might be past the fender.

I'm running 18 x 8.5 with a +35 offset. Car is lowered on Koni Yellows and Swift Racing springs. Only "modification" I have done is a fender roll. No pulling was needed. Tires are as aggressive as I could get them. Falken Azenis PT-615 225/45/18

In my opinion .... Perfect fitment. I'll post a photo in a moment. I have to go out to my car

Tires are toast and essentially slicks. You get the idea though
