 Furai Lights Thread
So I've gotten sort of excited over the idea of this. I'm trying to create a Furai like look via LEDs. Honestly, I didn't plan on posting this until it was finished, but I'd rather be open to advice on wiring and certain LEDs so I don't do it wrong. I'd like to re-do some of the light switches. Day-lights would turn on FuraiLeds, running light switch stays the same, then the full light-switch would turn on angels and yellow-days. I've drawn up the path or trail I'll be following for the lights; sort of similar to the Furai's light trails.   As for the actual lights, I'm considering these... Brand New Waterproof White SMD 3528 300 Flexible LED strip Light 12V Citipower | eBay ... stuffed into these: OR So, any thoughts? I'm looking for feedback on Light Trails and electrical stuff. And yes, I'm serious about this. So please, no posts bashing the idea.      | ||||||||||||||||||

Those strips won't give you the solid light lines. You want something like this.... Light TapeŽ - Bring your imagination to light! or http://www.elwire.com/. Also, unless you molded them into the body somehow, they wouldn't look great during the day or in person. Just my 2 cents. Hope it goes well!!

The problem with that is the price. I'd have to order from them, and I know it won't be cheap. I did find this. A friend of mine had some EL wire-setup in his dorm that followed bass notes. It's cool, just very thin wire. 10 Meter EL Wire 3.2mm Neon White Light Inverter 12V DC | eBay I can get the length that I need, but I'm not sure that thin wire would stand out. I was hoping translucent tubing for LEDs would help spread out the light. Although, red would allow me to do the rear as well: 5 Meter EL Wire 2.3mm Neon Red Glow Light Inverter 12V | eBay | ||||||||||||||||||

I want to use something like the EL wire for my headlights when my warranty runs out. Was gonna follow some of the lines but need to find a suitable material that is small enough to fight yet bright enough.

Yeah, I'm not sure EL is appropriate for it. The upside to EL is because it's small size, it's easy to hide. So I guess it'll be something to think about.

I'm really interested to see the final product! I say go for it and if you don't like it then you tried, but i think it'll be pretty cool.

Interesting idea here, I do like the less invasive one more than the other one. Will be cool to see the final product.
