Default Remove Door Guards

I don't think many of you have these on your cars, but does anyone know if these are easily removed? Easily removed to me means no pin holes. This is what I'm talking about:

It really detracts from the look of the car, IMO. I'd like to take them off pronto. Any help?

Nah, those mouldngs are just put on with double stick tape just like the Gen1's. Wouldn't make sense for mazda to start punching holes in the doors for clips. To expensive and complicated for them to make a production line change like that, and they'd have to stock doors with holes for accident replacement.

Warm up the mouldings with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive and pull them off gently.
Use GooGone to remove any adhesive residue.

Thanks. I figured they were put on that way, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Wow, I haven't seen a gen2 with door guards... I thought they ditched those for gen2, and they look even worse on the gen2 than on the gen1.

Maybe try getting a bit of fishing wire and pull it behind the door guards? Like lightly? Just to see if there are any pins. That will probably help you figure out whats behind there.

Ugh, they came off easy but I can't get the rest of the residue off. Used GooGone but it didn't do much. Hairdryer is helping. I'll try again later, but I had limited time and had badges to paint as well.
