Default Footwell lighting shorted, always on

I really need help on a problem that occured on my mazda3... as everyone knows these mazda3 come with stock Blue Led light on the foot rest...well last nite i recived the 2 blue led strips i orderedto give it more brighter light in the foot rest. So wat i did was i stripped the two wires from the stock led light to get direct signal...now heres the problem...while i was busy unpackaging my new led strips i left the two stock wires just hanging and the positive and negative touched together...i heard a click noise like if a fuse blew...i checked all my fuses and theyre fine....what is really worrying me is that now the Stock led blue lights stay on even when the car is off...so pretty much the stock led lights never turn off....I NEED HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM....can someone tell me how to find the relay or fuse for these leds?

You guys fried your BCU ( Body Control Unit) and its a really expensive part. A member on the forum up in CA did this same thing but had it fixed under warranty and would have cost $500. The BCU controlls all the lighting on the car. Said member reported the same thing however he lost additional lights as well ( head and tails)
Just so you know, the 2 wires that pwr the foot well lighting in NOT Grnd and +12. Both are normaly +12 and one goes to 10V to bias the LED's and risies back to +12 to turn them off. ( if you have an electronics background this would make sense)
I would take off any lighting mods you did and bring it to the dealership for a repair under warranty.

^What he said.

I have a feeling this will be happening a LOT more to cars now with all the digital lighting controllers and such.

hi,

This week end, i had nearly the same problem, I ordered strip led 12v on ebay, i wanted to install it, i connected theses strips led on direct signal on the 2 wires where are already connect the original footwell lighting, no problem to install it.

The evening i realized that it was running on all the time . this morning i decided to remove it but now it still running on, do you think it's the BCU ? because i had no problem ( no contact with + and - wires)

Hope to find a solution ....
