Where To Put My Big Amp?

I went from a 2 channel amp to a 4. I had the 2 channel installed on the spare tire under the mat. The new amp is 15 3/4" long which is too large to fit in the same spot.

The vents under the seats make that a no go. I really don't want to take up trunk space for this. I am also not good enough to make a nice custom job.

Ideas where to try?

there are very few spots left if you don't want to put it in the trunk that will give it enough room to breathe and release heat properly. sometimes you have to give to get.

im guessing you have a sedan? you can try mounting it on the rear deck behind the back seats i have seem some people do thins and it comes out pretty clean depending on the amp and whether or not they take the time to mold it in.

If I cut the vents there will still be hot air blowing right on the bottom of the amp. I am thinking I am going to use some of that silver heat vent tape and seal the vents at this point. I like to be able to undo mods if I ever change my mind.

BTW..... it's a hatch.

My bad when you said trunk I thought sedan haha, but anyway you could still put the amp up on the thingy that goes over the back. You would have to reenforce it some how.... the only other thing i can think of is a false floor that has the amp flush with it.

just a suggestion, maybe get a smaller amp that you can fit easier

Not sure how tall the amp is, but you could try mounting it on 1/2" tall spacers that would clear the rear vents. I know there's not a lot of room down there, but it couldn't hurt to check.
