Default Install location of Basslink in M3 hatchback

[Morning All,

I am trying to find a location for the basslink in my 2010 M3 hatchback.
I thought I would post this request in hopes of getting a response from those M3 hatchback owners who have already been through it.
Yes, I did check a whole lot of earlier posts, but all I found was for sedans or velcro to rug.

Where did you finally locate your basslink subwoofer?
How did you attach it to that location?
Pictures would be really nice.

TIA

Tim

NP - I got a pretty good idea of where I want it to go.
Plan on putting it against the passenger rear wheel well.
Have to turn the thing upside down so that the connections face forward - don't know if I can stand to see the INFINITY logo upside down.
Will use a smal platform to raise it over the rubber floor mat and use the "vertical mounts" to attach it to the upper part of the wheel well. Will most likely insert a wood block behind the molded wheel well piece to screw into.
Should make for a tight fit and a quick release if/when needed.
Hope if gives me the bass I am looking for from this position.

Tim

PS - Now that I made my decision, you folks that did not bother to give advice now have an oppurtunity to provide a critique! - Should get me a better response.

What I did was pretty straight forward. First, I did not want to mount on the driver side as it interferred with the jack access and also blocked part of the larger fold down seat. So I mounted it on the passegner side. I used both the vertical mounts and and 2 pieces of the horizontal mounts for my install. I cut some 2x3 to fit the angle of the passenger side rear wheel wheel (upper aread) and mounted them on the Basslink. I put a 3/8" platform on the bottom, and mounted a block of wood behind the passenger side wheel well cover. Then simply used 21/2 in screws to mount the basslnk to the wheel well. It is very solid and easily removed to access to the spare tire. Next step is to get a "gang plug" to let me do a quck disconnect from the basslink. Overall I am very happy with the install and the sound is fantasic! - As an OF (Old Fart) I had forgotten how good music sounds on a good system. My car stereo system is fantasic and did not cost a whole lot. Yes, the basslink sticks out in the trunk area, but $175 for it versus $350 for the fiberglass, plus $100 for the sub, plus another $100(min) for the amp, and i am more than willing to give up a square foot of space in the trunk area.
Don't have pictures, but if someone is interested, I will post a few.

Tim

Default Pictures of Basslink mount

OK - have been busy, but finally got around to taking some pictures of how I mounted the basslink in the back of my 3 hatchback.
Descriptions.
1. From back of car
2. From driver side
3. From passenger rear seat
4. Looking down on wheel well mount - notice custom blocks to make good fit.
5. Close up showing platform and that unit is "upside down"
6. Very close up of quick connect velcroed to back of sub.

The unit sounds vey nice with the back seats up or down. Was a good investment for me.

Will try to answer any questions.

Tim
