Has anyone purchased anything from this site?

Protege Garage - Angel Eye Kit - 2010 Mazda3 and Mazdaspeed3
Look at the ONLY picture that they have for the Angel Eye in the headlight.

Now look at the 2nd last picture of the first post by jpn:

I don't know about you guys, but that somewhat bugs me. Unless jpn owns the site...?

I don't own that site. My angel eye job was a custom, one-time job.

A- this is false advertising... there's clearly only 1 ring (2 rings total for the car) in the picture, but they're advertising 4 rings...
B- can they really just grab that picture and claim it to be theirs?
C- SWEET! Someone thought my work was good enough to market on their site!

They lifted your pic....used to happen to me on ebay all the time...Sleezy yes but agreed at least they liked it enough to use it, however they could have been too lazy to take one of thier own...or thier product doesn't look as good.

Supposedly Ken from Protege Garage is one of the good guys. He bends over to backwards to take care of customers. Using your pic without your permission wasn't right. Espescially since he's making money off it. It sounds like all he had to do was PM you and you would have let him do it. I don't think he's doing anything illegal since he didn't watermark it and claim it as his own. I read that google is the biggest offender of this type of thing. They use alot of internet pics for their own advertising without getting permission first. In the future watermark your pics if you don't want them used. The quality of your work warrants it. Approach Ken in the right way and you might walk away with some kind of freebie since he's making money off your work. Coilovers ?

I love how mad you seem in "A" & "B"... Then in "C" you seem excited

That's too funny!!! It is good work though, and you should be compensated somehow for them taking your pic and acting like the product they make will be just like your custom piece!

Got an email back from Ken already.

I had not known this picture was anyone's other than what was supplied to me by a vendor whom I deal with who is selling these to me. Please accept my explanation and advance apology for that.

He goes on to say:

I am not out to step on anyone's toes and will, if need be, simply remove the listing until this can be worked out.

He Cc'd the vendor on the email. I replied and we're now awaiting reply from the vendor.

Yea, He has a big following on M3F. Matter of fact when Streetunit was having a hard time getting me a right front koni strut they suggested that I call Ken. They said that if he had a set he would probably break it up, which no one else was willing to do. Streetunit finally got me the strut so I didn't have to call him. Customer service is his thing!
