Default Automatic Transmission Fluid

I remembered when i bought my MZ3 back in Oct 2011, the salesman said that the transmission fluid never will have to be changed. I kinda thought that was kinda werid cause i never heard that before.

Is that true or not?

My MZ3 currently has 14,600 miles on it and the tranny fluid is light brown with a very light tint of red?? isnt is suppose to to redish??

I have over 26,000 miles on mine and haven't done anything to the trans fluid yet (auto also). I don't remember seeing it in the Mazda manual for servicing, but I'm sure it's in there. I'll take a look later to see what it says, but there gotta be a recommended interval for changing the fluid. Nothing lasts forever, especially lubricants.

I always thought it was usually 60-80k to get a tranny flush and fluid? That was recommended in my 2010 focus I think...

I was reading up on this on another forum and people have been changing their ATF on first gens as early as 15k miles. I'm at 45k miles and my trans is starting to feel slightly sluggish, but I don't know if it actually is or it's that I'm thinking about it.

i had to switch over at 32k. installed a B&M transmission cooler and did a partial flush, along with power steering since its the same fluid. i will be doing another flush in about a month to complete the switch over to amsoil ATF. should be about 10 quarts in total.

im at 14,800 miles, yall think it'll be a good idea to do a DRAIN AND FILL soon?

75% of my driving is highway but my tranny fluid is light brownish now.

whats ur views on a tranny cooler?? is it a good idea?? or not worth the work and buck?

NEVER DO JUST A DRAIN AND FILL!

You'll end up doing more damage than good. Also, be sure to stick to the recommended Mazda transmission fluid.
