Default home made CAI??

Looking at the pictures gunner posted with the bumper off, it looks like there is plenty of room for a filter where the ATX cooler is. I was in Autozone yesterday and they had lots of universal polished pipes and bends for making your own CAI. just wondering if anyone was up to the challenge. The parts looked relatively inexpensive. The filter was only $25 and tubing was $10-30 depending on the length. Im not up for trying, but thought some of you guys would dive into it and make you own 3" CAI or SRI as it seems Autozone has all the joints, rubberhoses needed.

problem with the mz3 is the maf sensor, you need to make a special fitment for it

I don't think it's as simple as sticking the MAF in an adapter. If the sensor isn't at the correct position within the CAI, then it will meter the amount of air passing incorrectly. This is why some aftermarket intakes tend to throw CEL's (check engine light). If you're throwing a CEL, then the intake is probably doing more harm than good. I won't be trying this, but kudos to anyone who can make their own CAI that doesn't throw a CEL.
