Dunston, Give me some examples of what you mean by a couple cool touches. Jason

What I ment to say was to make a basic "economy" type intake without the fancy t-bolt clamps and all the color options. I understand you guys have tons of reasearch and development in your products and want to produce a high quality product for your customers. I am just offering my suggestions. :-)

I'd be reluctant to call t-bolt clamps fancy. Their main purpose is to not bite into silicon hose/couplers that worm-gear clamps without an extra inner ring tend to do. T Bolt Clamp = $2.60/each

Yeah that's not going to happen...there's just no place to pull enough cost out of these to make it worthwhile for the extra time it takes to design up different pick lists, inventory, etc. I think it would amaze you as to the cost of variability of products. Having products that use common parts allows us to increase configureability without impacting cost in a prohibitive manner. The ways we could get the price down would be by not anodizing, not remachining the parts with our logo and the airflow indicator, using cheaper fall-apart t-bolt clamps like the ones catchphrase linked to (we would not use worm gear clamps, they chew up hoses when overtightened), and perhaps by using non name brand filters. The problem you run into is that we decrease the value while decreasing the cost. Lose-Lose. That being said, I LOVE the suggestion. We need more feedback like this on what you all want to see us do with our products (things like this and the mention earlier of an axle-back exhaust option, etc). Keep 'em coming! You're the second person who has asked about the red silicone couplers for the 2010 MZ3. I think that is something we will get into in the future, but we're not currently at a reorder point for the silicone right now so it will be a while before we place another order for it. I can tell you this much - we will soon be offering the components of our kits for sale so people can mix/match their colors or build their own intake based on their own designs, etc. If you're eager to get an intake sooner and then swap out to red, I'd just suggest getting black and then purchasing the red when it is available. There are plenty of people out there who bought the intake when it was only available with blue silicone hose who would probably buy your black hose when we have a red one available. I can look into ETA's further on when our next silicone order is charted to give you a better estimation of when we would have them in stock if you would like. what about anodizing the t-bolt clamps? is that a possible option in the future?
HAHAHAHAHA told you nothing was going to happen

Anodizing is for aluminum only, it uses an acid in the dielectric process which would eat the stainless clamps. Jason
