Intake and exhaust (on the speed) should be okay with stock fuel pump. Now when you add something like hypertech, or cobb AP along with an F/TMIC, then yes you would want to look into upgrading that. EDIT: Hmm if you start deleting cats it seems you will have to upgrade fuel pump.

Going back a little... Over the weekend I was at a show and met a guy with a 2010 Mazda 3 2.0L and he had replaced the stock muffler with just a straight pipe, and it sounded pretty good. Deep tone, not too loud and no rattle. It was a lot quieter than I expected for a straight pipe but a really nice sound, had the stock cats and resonator still in.
