Default K&N 69-6013 Typhoon SRI Soundclip

First mod on my first ever car. Took me forever to get the thing installed. Not having all the right tools didn't help as I had to rush to Home Depot amidst tax free weekend here. The heat shield installation was a pain and probably not for someone who is so new to working on cars like myself. If I had to do it again, I would probably get the Simota or Corksport simply for the ease of installation.

This was a great learning experience for me though, I didn't even know how to match bolts in MM sizes to sockets in inches prior to this. Also, the new sound the intake emits makes it worth it even if it was laborious to install. Video can't quite capture the significant difference in sound, but it sounds better in the car. My car has the 2.5L with the auto trans.

Congrats on the intake! I've always been a fan of K&N intakes, and would've gotten one if they came out sooner. Still debating on it further down if and when my CS filter starts breaking down, or until I get the extra cash to throw around. I'm not sure what you ment by matching mm to inch sockets, but if you mean you used standard sockets as opposed to metric, you really should get a set of metric sockets and wrenches, especially if you see yourself doing more mods to your car. Just about all cars, even American cars use metric nuts and bolts. I have both sets and my standard ones have been sitting around untouched for over 10 years. Either way, congrats again and welcome to the crazy and endless world of modding!

I asked the service department of the dealership I take my car to for maintenance, they said basic aftermarket mods like these are fine. So I won't be taking it off when I take the car in next month. We'll see what happens. At least K&N gave us the option to call them in case a dealer wants to revoke the car's warranty based on their intakes.

Im not sure why but I want to do the same. I was thinking about a cold air... but i'm not sold that theres enough room unless you put it by the fogs. And I dont wanna take the bottom skirt off especially when it rains. But I do think the simota is the coolest looking besides maybe a PRM. So not sure if I wanna spend a little just for some change, since im getting bored. Or just keep it.

i really hope this is the case with my local mazda. lowering springs were such a hassle i really wouldn't want to have to take them off if anything every happens.
