The cabin filter is two pieces and is sold as a set, so you only need to purchase one, unless you plan on stocking up.

How often do they need to be changed/cleaned? How do you clean them once they are out? I heard if you leave the air circulation button on all the time you won't have to change the filter nearly as much if at all. Anybody heard the same?

Either every year, or every other year. It's mentioned in the owners manual.

I think the manual says every 25,000 miles or every two years.

Had some free time and decided to just take a peek at the filter. There's only one word I could find....NASTY!!! I have in Dallas and have some of the WORST air pollution/pollen ever! This filter is dark grey with black spots EVERYWHERE! I am putting in an order for some new filters now. Explains why I have sneezing fits when driving around with the air on.

Hello everyone,

I'm new here. Using these instructions, I was able to complete this job in 25 minutes on my spousal unit's 07 3. I really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Nobby.

I just look at my 2010 to replace the cabin Air Filter. Once the 2 screws are out it is loose but the access door that is partialli under the dash sticks. What is the trick to pulling it completely off? That is the Filter your fifth picture that shows the 2 screws still installed is it? Thanks for this post...........

Great post, the dealership was going to charge 85 bucks for this so I thought I'd give it a try myself. Thanks to this post, it looks like I might have made a good decision. Can anyone recommend a good spot for purchasing parts? This will hopefully be the first of many such DIY projects with my 3s
