I even live 45 minutes from their warehouse location. so i just wanted to know if you guys have had any issues.
Mine shipped January 5th, so I'm hoping they'll come soon. I can't wait to put some HIDs on and finally be able to see stuff in front of me. Too bad DDM has to go the cheap route and ship through USPS from China. Probably won't get updated tracking info until it's already at my door. Oh well. At least the HIDs were pretty cheap...

Didn't read all the pages so I hope I don't repeat here. I installed many kits before and they all had the idiots proof hardness, meaning the plugs have a one way connection. When I installed the DDM slim kit, thinking it's the same and plugged the cables without checking. I took me an extra hour to figure that out. So make sure you look for the +/- sign. Also I have the 4500k and i don't think it's that bright compared to my other kits (also 4300k). May be the Mz3 is too low. The Mz3 stock lights weren't too bad compared to non-HID stock lights on other cars.

major thanks to DANO.... due to this post i was successfully able to install my hid's and save quite a bit of money.

as for the shipping they do come from China... called ddm last week and that's where their warehouse is located. Then it shipped from San Francisco. Took almost 3 weeks in total to get them.

No problem! Like I said, the install isn't hard, but there's a few roadblocks and if you can't get past them right the thing will never work.

Same thing with me....I had the DDM 5000 kelvin bulbs and they put out a lot of blue. I bought a pair of 4300 kelvin bulbs from another supplier and wow....all the difference in the world.......the 4300's are like sunlight

I have ddm slims in my 2010 mazda 3.
You do not need to buy a harness adapter, new pigtails, or do any wiring.
I repeat
you do NOT need to follow those steps in this guide.

If you take needle nose pliars and slightly bend the pins in the ballasts themselves, you can make an h11 (stock) connector fit inside a 9006 socket (slim ballast). You do not have to risk breaking the ballast, or bend them very much at alll. I know this will get buried, but it works. You bend each pin like a Z to move each pin maybe 1/16th of an inch inwards.
You bend the pin like so (ignore the periods in my crappy ascii drawing)

Left ballast, right plug side
___
......\________
.
.
.
........________
___/

I did not have to adjust polarity, and the snap clips were JUST about long enough to reach, although the plugs are VERY snug.

Hi ppl,

My friend just picked up a 2012 MAZDA3 i Touring 5-Door Manual. Does this guide apply to his car? Also, I've read some discussions here and seems like Volts HID kit is also popular like the DDM kit. If he gets the Volts kit will this guide work also?

Thanks in advance!

Are people still buying these? They arent worth the money as thier ballast are complete crap. I bought a 35w 6000k kit back in June and one of the ballast went out a few days later. I wasnt going to deal with waiting for a replacement so i purchased one at a nearby shop i found. The 2nd ballast went out in November even with proper use with the HIDs. Your better off spending a little more.

I've had mine for a while with no issues. I just bought two more sets to put into my wife's car.
