update

it may be my spoiler making this clunk noise. yes it sounds almost identical to the 1st gen mazdaspeed clunk but.... i had my car at mazda today and they inspected it durring my oil change and transmission fluid flush and found no sign of wear on mounts or struts.

i read elsewhere that the 2nd gen mazdaspeed spoiler makes a clunking noise due to the foam stripping not being thick enough. this foam strip goes between the spoiler and the chassis. it was installed on my freashly painted mazdaspeed spoiler that i installed about 2 months ago, i have seemingly been hearing this noise since.

i'll keep this thread up to date , especially since i am installing RB springs soon with eibach camber adjustment kit

I am reading this thread because my 3 is making the sound in the rear too. Not sure if it's "pop" but it's more like "thud" over bigger bumps. I thought it was the grease dried up in the sway bar bushings but regreasing them didn't get rid of the sound. The stock endlinks look solid and I hope it's not blown shocks (stock with Prokit). I mostly drive by myself and only have 6 kmiles on it. The cars has no spoiler.

Check your tano cover, check your spare tire, check the foam cover that goes over the spare tire. Place a blanket ontop of the spare tire, remove tano cover that covers the hatch.

How much of a drop is the pro-kit?

A tud is normal but popping and clunking is not, with normal driving. What seires tire do you have. Did you recently decrease the size? 50 series ride more quiet then 45 series. Also, stock tires suck, the ride was loud when I had my stock yokohama on after about 7,000 miles. I swapped them out for more soft side wall tires.

The suspention makes a distinct pop, not to be confused with other noises. You are under warrenty. I suggest putting your stock rear springs back on and take it into mazda!

Found the problem last nite, it's the left endlink. It was just a little loose and I couldn't believe it made such loud noise. When I was regreasing the bushings, I checked the endlinks and they seemed to be tight, couldn't tell by just feeling it until last night I used the wrench to check and the nut was not tight.

Solid like a rock. I was sure when I started upgrading suspension parts that I would be on my own when things go wrong. Dealers aren't going even to check when they see after market parts. I used electrical tape to cover the "Eibach", just in case anyway.

mine was like that too after installing rm. the shop could not find the problem but I did. It was the endlink on the rear away bar. Just tighten them up and you will be fine.
