 2010 Mazda 3 Front-end Problem?
2010 Mazda 3 GT 5-Door, 57,000 miles. I am the only owner. Never had an accident. I've been fighting with Mazda for 20,000 miles over issues in my front end, now I have this symptom: All I am doing is rocking my steering wheel back and forth with the car stopped. *Please* someone tell me I am not insane.. I cannot possibly believe this is normal, but Mazda seem to think there is nothing wrong!! I am concerned there is a serious safety problem here...  I am getting the the point of contacting a Lawyer but I don't want to do that if they will finally admit a problem and fix it!!!      | |||||||||||||||||

are you taking about the knocking? i dont really understand why it's a big problem. does it make the noise when the car is driving?

Im sorry man but I dont really see a problem my car does the samething when you turn in both directions! Could you be a bit more specific

Oh yeah sorry more info. It always used to have a quiet knock sound turning either direction, but recently that noise you hear is a loud "crack" and it ONLY occurs turning the steering wheel to the right hand side, and let go. If I go to the left and let go it does not occur. When I'm driving at speed, and turn just slightly to the left OR right the wheel wobbles like the lug nuts are loose (they are not). When driving at speed in windy conditions the car seems to veer around on the road, and I have to keep steering back and forth to keep going straight. Much worse than anything I have ever driven. It only started making this cracking sound within the last month or two as the weather warmed up. | |||||||||||||||||

Are you people crazy? That's a horrendous noise his car makes. I wouldn't want to drive it that way. Let alone a GF or wife. Lawyer up OP!

Oh now I hear it I was playing it through my phone so I didnt hear the noise! Yea get that checked lol!

Good local shop checked it out tonite and say no play in tie rods (inner or outer). Noise and feel confirmed in steering rack, but no diagnosis. To be fair they are a Porsche shop and well respected locally. Steering gear play? Any help on this is very much appreciated  Cheers! | |||||||||||||||||
