Post New tire purchase decision

Hi, I'm looking for a new set of tires pretty soon. I currently have 35000 miles on my oem tires Yoko S34D's.
The things I'm looking for in a tire is long treadlife , handling and a quiet ride. I would like to get a tire that has 60000+ mile tread life. So, far I've found the Yokohama avid ascend, Hankook Optimo H428, Kuhmo Ecsta LX Platinum and Nankang.

What are your reviews for the Yoko Avid Ascend or any tires you are now using?
Size: 205/50/R17

Your reviews will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I would try to get the Continental ExtremeContact DWS, they are great tires! And with that size you could get them for like $170-180 on discount tire.. I'd recommend getting a thicker tire and making it 215/45/17 or something of that sort.

How did you get 35k miles on the stock tires O.o I only got 16k out of mine.

When I got new tires, I changed them to 225/45-R17. The last tires I bought were Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport. Gripped great, were quiet but probably wouldn't last anywhere near 60k miles.

got 225/45/R17 DWS's on my 3 because they were cheaper than 205/50/R17s and were a +0 size. Not a bad tire but I wouldn't say they are the greatest, especially in snow.

Maybe try to do research on the Yokohama Avid Envigor and the General GMAX AS03 tires. I went with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS in 225/45/17. They are great for cruising but are a bit unsettled when you're pushing your car due to softer sidewalls. I'd recommend staying with the stock size 205/50/17 if you are on the stock wheels.

Kuhmo Ectsa 4X's are fantastic and IMHO great value for the money. I have a review in another thread.

I bought the 4X for my Mazda after reading Desertnate's review and agree wholeheartedly with his review.

I also am running the same tires, or just the newest version of them. Got them at 101 a tire I believe. Even ran over a lower-control arm that fell off a truck within the first week of owning them and Kumho replaced the tire free of charge.. besides shipping.

The 4X's have only been on the market for about 6 months and are the newer version of the ASX which has been around for quite a while.

I agree that the DWS is a great tire. Stay on the stock sizing though.

If others are complaining that it is unsettled at speed that is for two main reasons.

1. Improper air pressures

2. Tires too wide for the wheels they are on. Ultimately causing improper side load.
