| A lot of people have done it successfully. Don't let my failure stop you from trying. I think part of my problem was that I didn't let the paint dry properly and rushed putting it back together. Another issue I had was that the paint started to bubble up near the turn signal light due to the heat. Just take your time with it.

I really like that. It's subtle but makes a world of difference to people who know the car. Good job. -Tyler | |||||||||||||||||

How did you wreck the seal? I've opened mine up 3 times and haven't had problem, could lay down some butyl rubber also. Looks good though

I'm not sure what happened with the seal, but a small amount if condensation started to form. I think I should have added the silicone to the inside of the light as opposed to the outer edges.

I would bet money that its because you used silicone at all, they dont need it. You just need to reheat it and push them together really well, the original butyl rubber can be used time and time again. Im just saying, they might be salvageable. Your new lights look good, especially with the colour scheme you have going, but I prefer painted lights.

Thanks. I think they are salvageable too. I just didn't want to have to deal with baking them open and repainting and having the same issue. I still have them, so maybe I'll get motivated to fix them during the summer.
