Default iOS 4.1 is out!

Hey guys,

Apple yesterday released iOS 4.1. What does this mean for us Mazda Drivers?

Full AVRCP Bluetooth support! In other words, if you are listening to your music via your iphone or ipod touch you can now skip through tracks using the steering controls or through the normal controls. I tested this yesterday and it works great. One thing I did notice was that if you move the control wheel on the Mazda (the one that goes around the Play/Pause button) it also skips through the tracks.

Is it just me or does the audio sound much better after the 4.1 update when using the bluetooth audio with the iPhone?

I always felt the audio was pretty good even before the upgrade.

holy 1 page late post, batman!
I had posted this on the general subforum but it seems the mods merged my topic into this one.

I agree, it could use a bit of an improvement there! If they can make bluetooth headsets without a delay, there is no reason why changing a song should take so long!

I still can't get play/pause/prev/next working for the steering wheel and/or head unit. I can stream music but no control over the ipod from the car.

Just upgraded a 2g touch to OS4.1 and it doesn't work. I'm assuming the car firmware should be good right?

I'm in a 2010 M3 5-door.

Default iPhone bluetooth controls

Not sure if everyone is aware seeing as I discovered this by accident, but I think the new update to the phone lets you actually change songs with the steering wheel and radio controls rather than having to use the phone to skip the songs, maybe I'm retarded and didn't realize this before though

I just upgraded to the iphone 4 and it was working fine with the Bluetooth in my car but after a week or so it can no longer recognize the mazda anymore... it cant even pair up to the phone i have tried restarting my phone and forgetting the device to try to pair it again but it wont catch the car when it is 'searching' for a device..
can anyone give some advice? do i have to go to mazda for an update for the head unit?? idk

Thank in advance
