Default Custom Subwoofer Enclosure

After reading through hundreds of posts I stumbled upon a thread about taking out the jack in the back compartment and fiberglassing it to install a subwoofer steathily. I already purchased a 10" shallow mount subwoofer from Pioneer (800w) and and wondering if anyone else has any experience using that space on the side and if a 10" shallow mount would fit well in there. I havent purchased an amp yet because im a little short on cash and am slowly building the system and really wanted to do the sub install on the side like that. If anyone has more info on it or has done it themselves please share.

*On a side note, once that is installed how do you get at the wires that would presumably run behind the paneling?
