I am going to be purchasing a synapse bov tomorrow, I know its different from your turboXS but I'll know if it will have any clearance issues with the K&N heat shield. Im also possibly getting a HKS bov to try also.

you shouldnt have any issues with the heat shield... i have a forge BPV and have plenty of clearance room. Its preety far over and there is a little bit of play in where you can position the shield..not much but i dont think you would have any issues

sounds good, the turbo xs is rather long and way too big for the stock intake of course, when it's install within this week i'll be sure to post pictures, in case anyone else needs this information

hey guys just an update, so i figured it out. Yesturday I installed the k&n typhoon sri, and turboXS 50/50 bpv. There is just enough room for the bpv, however it restricts the vaccumm tubing on the top of the bpv. as of now my bpv vaccum tubing is slightly bent, although operational. Next week im going to drill a hole through the heatshield which is metal, not plastic (some people think the heatshield is plastic) and route the tubing through the heatshield so the tubing isn't bent. This SRI I paid 200 dollars shipped to my door from pacificperformance on Ebay. It isn't that expensive anymore, and personally I don't want to worry about water in my intake, but I would like to minimize heat soak. If you ask me when it comes to intakes on this car, the typhoon is the way to go!!

I have recently installed a typhoon intake on my 2010 MS3 too, and am wondering about water getting in through the scoop from car washes and heavy rain. I would think that K&N would take the possibility of water getting on the filter into consideration in terms of its design and location. I just hope that I don't damage my engine if water were to somehow enter from the filter. | |||||||||||||||||
