Yeah...they're 19's...and the tires are 225/40s, which should work OK and would probably fill our the wheel wells nicely once lowered.

I might have to try to get out to a meet one day so you don't get picked on too bad ...weeknights are probably a no go, but a weekend might work out. I did go to the MOCC forum yesterday and wan in the process of signing up...right before I got pulled away into an afternoon project meeting at work ...I'll make it official in the near future.

hahaha, actually its all good, they are all a great group and not too many negatives on the new style(minus the "grin" people either love or hate it)....i'm just trying to recruit some Gen2's to rep at the meets....and it'd be cool to talk with someone else with a gen2 speed3 and regular gen2 3's as well. the weekend meet happens saturday mornings at 9am at the Starbucks at 16th and broadway. The monthly night meet occurs 3rd wendnesdays at 7pm at Wingstop in Natomas.

I think the r3 19" wheels would definately look hot and for sure fill them wells in even more. I was reading up on the autoexe springs currently available. They provide a 1" drop all the way around. Definately waiting to see what H&R and Eibachs will drop it. I'm really considering a coilover set up instead though. I like the idea of adjustability of height AND dampening. BCRacing's set up seems to get a great review and the price is really good....just need to find out definitively if there is/will be an application for the Gen 2's.

225/40-19's are 1" bigger than your stock tires and 2.4mph off on the speedometer. Same sidewall height though. I agree that they should look awesome. Might be hard to find a set of the R3 wheels, but you could always go aftermarket and still run the 225/40-19's. There is a slight chance that you might rub when turning.

yea...not to mention the price jump in the cost of rubber......i'm suprised at the difference in jump from 17 to 18....so i plan to stick with 18's when i eventually buy a set of aftermarket rims.

Those rims look great! I was thinking of getting my rims powder coated that color since I just purchased another set of OEM '10 MS3 rims/tires lol...buddy of mine said he knows someone that can powder coat rims for $15 each!

Be careful with bargin basement powder coaters. If they aren't done correctly, the process can actualy weaken the metal and make it prone to cracks. I've seen it happen - not pretty. Completely avoidable, but it takes more time,

thanks Derrick, I'll do some more research on powder coating. I thought it just consisted of coating the wheels and then baking them lol

yea i'd love to know too actually, know of all kinds of people wanting to get their hands on a set! Someone on another forum planned to sell his, but wanted some insanely high amount for them. I love the idea of the black chroming, however i can imagine that'd be even more expensive than powder coating wheels.
