Can you explain the process of covering the pieces with the vinyl? Maybe a couple pics of all the materials needed. I have been on your website and watched your vids of the headlight tint, is this the same process used with the spray you use in your vids? What is in the spray can and can I buy all of these items from decal/fx?

Thanks,
Erik

Has anyone on here other than Darkspeed attempted this? I have been trying to order vinyl from Decal FX but there website will not allow ordering because it says they are at SEMA. I went to a local shop that does vinyl wrapping and they actually gave me a 3ftX3ft sheet and said good luck (laughing) as I walked out the door to wrap my fog bezels and dash trim. After 3 hours of jerking off and wasting every square inch of vinyl wrap that was given to me, I gave up. Thank god I wasn't by myself cause I wanted to step in front of a bus after that fiasco.

I think these guys in the video's are pros with 100's of hours of experience in doing this and are infinately patient.

While I was at the shop were I picked up the vinyl earlier, the owner suggested I go to an automotive paint store and pick up a can of exterior black trim spray paint if the vinyl didn't work out. He showed me some pieces he had done on his own car with the paint and it looked pretty good.

I am in the process of painting all of the pieces right now and I think I will keep the bezels painted, but I also found out that the trim panels are available from Mazda in black from their base model. I had my buddy order me both of the panels and I will install them tomorrow. After I get them, I will post the part numbers if they look good in the car.

I don't want to discourage anyone from trying the vinyl wrap and I am not trying to derail the OP's topic, but I just came to the conclusion I will never be able to do this kind of detail work. Fuck, I can't even find anyone in the Bay Area that is willing to vinyl wrap these pieces for me.

Good luck...

Looks great but the likelihood of me successfully accomplishing this is somewhere between slim and none. Though I would like to put some red vinyl in this places.

Hi to everyone!!!

I do not know how to wrap the trim pieces, but I actually find a person that for 10 bucks did the volume controls on the wheel for as much as $10 bucks in Carbon Fiber plastic....it looks awsome....

Also I did the doorhandles (4 of them) it was for about $30 bucks..

I leave you some pics...I hope you enjoy them..this are not mine and are also from a friend that has a non speed mazda 3. But my car right now is at the dealer due to a problem in the accesorie band....but this friend of mine copied my idea..jajjaja..

cheers.!!!

I have a small roll of 3m di-noc carbon fiber vinyl waiting for this exact project. I'll do some video of the wrapping, and I havn't done it before, but but if it comes out any good I'll post it up.
