Let's hope they branch out a come out with a redux awd 2.0L turbo pushin out 280's or so and have a WRC team going. You never know! Could happen! Haha but I see them doing almost the same thing for be third as they did the second. New body, some new features and slight upgrades but the same engine I'm sure. They're concepts are a little far fetched for my tastes and compared to other top manufacturers.

I can see where you are coming from. I'm afraid they might ditch innovation in an exercise to keep sales figures well protected. Oh well, speculation is really only just that... Let's see what they decide to do.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I heard Mazda's NA CEO mention that we will have news on SkyActive turbo variants come next year. Mazda is going to announce which vehicle will get the SkyActive Turbo Diesel racing engine probably by next year (actually they said, end of the GRAND AM Season, I don't know when the season ends). I'm guessing Mazda will announce an AWD Mazdaspeed6 which will get the turbo diesel racing engine. If the 3rd gen MS3 doesn't get the same engine, we might see it come with SkyActive Turbo Gasoline engine though that will most likely be years away.

Picture a Speed3 weighing hundreds of pounds less than the current model....I believe that's the next iteration of the 3/Speed3. It should be interesting, if you don't mind Juan, Jose and Pablo building your next car.

Whoever wrote that article doesn't understand the MazdaSpeed product was never intended to be high volume product...calling it an 'unimpressive seller' because they don't make/sell 100,000 MazdaSpeed cars annually is silly...

That would mean that all specialized models ARE 'unimpressive sellers'

all i know is that the regular gen 3 mazdas are going to be built in mexico not japan and also they might not come out with a speed... but u never know they came out with one on the gen 2 after few months.

I can agree with this. It's not like you ever see commercials or advertising for the speed. They could easily sell more, it's obviously not meant to sell huge amounts.
