Default How long did it take you to get your MazdaSpeed3?

Just curious, for those of you that had to order your car, how long did it take for you to receive it? I'm not in any big hurry for the car so I'm not pressuring the dealer or anything. I ordered the car on the 25th of November. The lady I worked with at first said it could take up to a month. I couldn't get a hold of her and ended up asking their finance director since that was the only email address I had. This was her response..

"Hi,

No problem at all. I am sorry for any confusion, Lorrie is a fairly new employee and I don't think she realized how long it usually takes. Also I believe the vehicle you ordered is a bit rare and they only are making one or two, it is not a usual standard production so this may affect the time. It could be sooner but like I said the vehicle does not get a vin # until it is completed so we can not track it.

I will keep on top of it for you =0)

Obviously there's more than 1 or 2 Speed3's being made, but I'm wondering if anyone had to wait 3 months, 3 days, a year?

What exatly did you order? From what i have read here it seems that alot of people have been able to pick their cars up right off the dealers lots. When i got mine i got it off the lot and it was about the 7th silver non-tech that i had seen. I looked at about 13 in august the first month that it was available. I would call around to other dealers in the area and see if they have any available. Just because you placed an order you arent obligated to buy the car no matter what they tell you.

I ordered the Celestial Blue with tech pkg. I've seen black and silver ones on the lots here but I think whoever they order through didn't have any in the blue.

About 2 1/2 hours. But it took 3 weeks of talking to the wife. In the end the only reason I got it was the dealer had the exact car I wanted (CB with Tech) and my 2003 Spec V need to get a major overhaul and she didn't want to see me pour another 5 grand into it.

Sounds like you are getting sandbagged. I would not be surprised if they tried to charge you a transport fee when the car does happen to show up. I also get the impression that they are probably trying to find the car for you and due to your area they are not as readily available.

driving to monterey on vacation....just as we are about to exit in Salinas for our hotel, i spotted the hoodscoop on a VRM as we passsed the dealership...and i wanted to "stop for my first look at the new speed3". A few hours later, i was saying an unexpected goodbye to my 05 maz3hatchie....and zoomin off in the new speed. The dealership, says guy, and everyone i came in contact was awesome! they had one of each of thel 4 colors....and mine happened to be the one right on the showroom floor...i didnt want the tech package, so she was perfect. Everyday i still cant believe its mine...LOVE MY CAR!!

I know it's not the same here, but just in case you'll have to wait for a long time, here is my personnal experience :
1990 mazda 323 f

I had to wait 6 months

1995 mazda 323 f

I had to wait 6 months

1998 mazda 626 st. wagon

I had to wait 6 months

05 mazda 3

15 days

So you see you're not alone to wait. I know why I had to wait so long and wish you not the same.

The "not usual standard production" makes me lough, it seems someone makes a mistakes but unless you ordered a 6 wheels mps (you know, 4 in front and 2 at the rear like old tyrell f1) all mazda's are "standard".
You all should add a delivery deadline (written on the order form) when ordering a car with definited penalties (150$/day f. ex.) and you'll see you'll be delivered on time, if not your car would be cheaper.
