So am I correct in assuming that the $19,800 for a 2010 MS3 with tech package, tint, and mats is a heck of a deal?

That's not a bad deal. You should really see if you can find a new 2011 sitting on someone's lot, since the 2012 are starting to roll out. You might be able to get it for a good price.

So far nothing better. The blue one sold. Looks like my best deal right now is a 2010 MS3 Black Mica with 17k miles with tint installation included for $19,800, within 4 hours driving distance. I just sent about 15 autotrader inquiries out on the 2011's, and we'll see. I'll do one last dash in the last 2 days before I buy on all the 2010's again to see if anyone will beat it. I think it's a pretty competitive price for a nearly new 2010. I AM worried about taking care of a black car though, that's the only reason I'm not stoked about the deal I found. I wanted silver to avoid the paint issues someone as OCD as myself would face with black.

It's going to be the black 2010 ms3 with tech package 19k miles for 19,600. No one else has come close. I'll be picking it up tomorrow! Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app

Here she is! Rough start as my first stick car, but she's worth the finicky clutch! It handles like it's on rails! My 2002 gti with basic mods didn't come close! Final price about 19,430 with 17k miles, aftermarket tint, and tech package. I for one find the Bose to be great for OEM. I can actually hear he bass distinctly , compared to my wife's Hyundai. I did some reading and I guess I'm not the only one who found learning on the ms3 to be a challenge. Any tips on engaging stop-1st 2nd would be welcome as it relates to rpm and proper clutch and gas handling Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app

I'm just used to taking off in my automatic GTI much faster. This takes more work, so I feel like I'm creeping away from a light. Without abusing my clutch what is a reasonable RPM level to engage the clutch from stop to 1st Anything to stop the creeping :-)

...the farthest right pedal will stop the creeping when in the down position... OK instsead of a smart ass answer.... your car is broken in so you don't have to baby it. Further...Congrats on the awesome ride! You should rev the engine just high enough while releasing the clutch to get it rolling and by then your foot should be off the pedal. This will come by feel after driving for awhile. Too much throttle and you'll snap your head back and the car will "buck" or lurch... too little and the car will stall...so...somewhere in between. I am going to guess here on the Speed but I would say less than 2K RPM ( Speed owners help here!) In fact if the engine has enough low end torque, you will find yourself at times going from a dead stop to a roll by just taking your foot off the cutch and no throttle. If you're looking to "launch" off a red light then that's a different approach. As I do not have a Speed I will leave getting off the line quickly to someone who has one. The above is for "civil" type driving. Good Luck and again Congrats on the Speed!
