K&N 33-2293 air filter will not fit on 2012 Mazda3 iTouring with Skyativ

Bought a K&N filter to replacement the stock one out of pure impulse from amazon and found out that it doesn't fit my 2012 Mazda3 iTouring with Skyactiv. Just want to give everyone a heads up. Here is the filter as listed on amazon.

You know there is a bar on top of the page (before menus) where you can select your car and it will tell if it fits or not.
I did on mine:

i actually would not mind replacing my factory air filter with K&N filter if I could find one that would fit in the stock air box. I did it on my old 2002 civic and the MPGs increased by 2-3.

I think Autoexe sells one for Skyactiv. It might be expensive because it's going to get shipped from Japan. Next time I go back to Japan, I'm going to check it out.

the filter number 33-2480 will fit.
The 33-2293 would fit except it has the square corners with the skyactiv air filter has rounded corners.

No power gain, just better sound. I've done many in my time and never noticed a differnce on any car besides sound
