Mazda 3 "ECO"-mode

Has anybody noticed the "ECO" icon underneath the AFS off and gas cap icon?

Question to those that have DRLs, does the icon on the right side of your instrument cluster, underneath the DSC off, lights up with your DRLs?

i just saw them and just wondering what are those for..

searched and read something about it under No. 4

I saw it as well. I wonder if they are going to implement something in the future where you can go into eco mode (like many gm cars) where it lowers the shift points such that it gets better gas mileage. We will probably see it next year along side with the new dsg transmission.

I believe it may refer to the auto shutoff at redlights that will be introduced mid-model year.

Yes, when the car is shut off in eco mode, if you have eco on, the A/C will NOT be running while the car is off (because the drive belts wont be running), but if you don't use eco mode (on the start/stop model that isn't out yet), it will leave the car on at idle, like our cars, just to run the A/C.

I wish, but not the case. Only mid year models will have it.
BMWs will have it in the near future too.

I didn't think we were getting this in America. I know the Japanese Acela is getting it.
