Why does my service technician break one of the battery box clips on every Mazda I've owned ?

2010 Mazda 3 HB Celestial Blue

Current Mods: 10% Tint, Moonroof, TRZ Dogbone mount, All-Weather Mats, Cargo Tray, TWM Short Shifter, TWM Shifter Bushings, Curt Hitch, Sirius Sat Radio Module, Fumoto Oil Drain Valve

Future: Entire Corksport MZ3 Catalog (maybe after graduation)

Sedan owner here, and I've got the same clear plastic thingys. Maybe on all 4 doors, but definitely at least 2 -- I can't quite remember. No clue what they're for.

I HATE THOSE!!!!!!

I have them too, but I don't have the courage to try and remove them.

The only reason I can think they are there is if the door got out of alignment and hits the edge while it closes. But you would have more to worry about than chipped paint if the door is miss aligned.
