Default LED Side Mirror Covers?

for us 2010.5+ owners that didnt get the juicy tasty goodness of the side mirror lights I might of stumbled across a solution. This site claims these are for 2010 3's. They look nice and in theory would work especially if the rumor of the side mirror marker light wires were left in our 2010.5+ 3's. There's not a lot of info on this site for these mirrors so your guess is as good as mine. Seems to me at first glance they cover the stock mirrors so no tearing apart the mirror itself... but then i could be wrong.

Interesting, I am going to have to look into these, too. I want my blinkers in my side mirrors!

Has anyone actually bothered popping off the existing mirrors on the 2010.5? I, too, heard rumors that the wiring was left for the signals, but then again, I heard rumors that the footwell lighting harness was left behind, and it was nowhere to be seen. Mfr date for my 2010.5 3s GT is 10/09 or 11/09.

If no one has, and maybe even if they do, I'll try cracking mine open this weekend to see what's back there.

I wonder if there's a water-tight way to install your own LED signal lights without having to spend $$ on replacement covers. Can't be that hard, right? A well-cut hole. A well-sized light. Some sealant? Then again, an extra $40 isn't much to spend on a well-designed product you know will work.

$40 bux plus paint ;~)

hey search the forum. I dont recall reading anyone actually opening up the mirrors and finding wires back there but i DO recall someone opening up the mirrors and finding the heater wires back there. It was in this forum... and i believe but dont quote me, was for the 2010.5 GTs. There's a whole "how to" on the heater replacement mirror install.

yes me too but you have to admit it... these are NOT a bad alternative to the stock $400 mirrors with side marker lights.

I might take mine off this weekend and take them apart for two reasons. One, to see what wires are there and if there are tabs to mount the signals and #2, to find out where I can plug up where all the water stores in the mirrors. WTF, I spent 5 minutes with a leaf blower blowing out each mirror from every angle and STILL had dropps coming down and left spots on my next drive.
