I can add a little further info regarding 16's for the speed. I sold my 05 Tribute wheels to a 1g speed3 owner and we test fit them in my driveway to make sure they'd fit. They are 16x7 with a +45 offset and just cleared the front caliper.

So a +45 will fit but I am sure you would want to take into consideration the spokes on different wheels as some may rub the caliper.

I am running 17 inch General Excliam Arctic something or other tires on mine, they were 93 bucks a piece and I found them to perform just as well if not better than my almost 200 dollar a piece Nokians last season. If you can get a set of Firestone Winterforce tires they are super cheap and work great also, but they do have a bit of road noise on dry pavement.

Tirerack is pretty awesome, thanks for the link! I was able to take a list of my tire candidates to the local BB and they hooked me up with some that night. Blizzaks and they handle drives through Parley's Canyon in the snow with ease!
