good idea, thanks man.

Dear Champ,

Since I'm not allowed to send you a PM, here a generic findings-report:

I've tried the NAV solution as you gave to me earlier. I did find a Europe navigation map (called 'Mazda 3 Copy 2014', with a specific CID and a separate xxx.lyc file). Made a SDHC card (8gb fat32) and copied all files/directories on it.

Step 1 went oke, I got the 'jci-linux_imx6_volans-release' for my car.
I ran the tool and made a CID patched version and a CID_SIGN patched version. I used the CID number given in the downloaded EU map.

Did step 4 and step 5, the system did reboot, but did NOT accept the SD card :frown2:

Even after adding the extra ...lyc file out of the 'Mazda 3 Copy 2014' on the SD card, it did not work at all. Always the 'invalid SD card' notice.

Any suggestions?

Grtz PhilSat.
well it look all what you did was correct, only one things i am not sure about.. that you may did mistake with following..
after you patched jci-linux_imx6_volans-release with the tool,,, it will be saved with adding other hacked name on the binary.. did you renam it as its original ( jci-linux_imx6_volans-release ) and put it in the config folder ?

Yes, I did rename it before putting it back on the USB-stck in the 'config' map. So, that's not the problem.

Champ.

Tried option 1. All files in the 'license' directory removed, but left the '.reg' directory in place. Only the ...LYC file out of the MAZDA 2013 file installed. Run the script again with the 'CID' only patched version, reboot occurred, but it did not work.
Option 2. Put back the .nng file. Retried, no result !

Champ,

I downloaded the file 'Mazda 3 Copy SD 2014.zip' which contains a directory 'content', a directory 'http-dump' (which I first included on the SD card, but later on had it removed), a directory 'license' (with the earlier mentioned multiple .LYC files and the nng file and the .reg directory) and finally the text file in the root.
It came with the file 'lyc_mazda.rar' (which contains the ....lyc file) and a text file wit the CID nr in it.

Grtz.

I also just tried it with the license directory complete empty (also the .REG directory deleted) and placed the ....LYC file out of the 'lyc_mazda.rar' in it. Inserted the sd-card in the car. Pressed ignition and after reboot: Invalid SD card

Wilco

if you don't have the SDCARD content for EU ( Mazda 3 Copy SD 2014 ) then download it from HERE

Download license and SID and thĂŞ TOOL & USB Steps from HERE

After you copied the SDCARD on Formated FAT32 SD Card replace license folder with the one in the second download.

patch NNG with CID , push it to system with StepTow USB script and then put the SDCARD in the place. never use the USB again after you push the patched Binary.

good luck
Thanks, downloading right now. Will let you know of the outcome.
Regards.

Hi Philsat,

I just moved my Mazda CX-5 (2016) from the USA to The Netherlands as well. The dealer I brought it to just updated the firmware to the latest European version (59.00.443) without any problems. Everything seems to function well.

Navigation is another thing, still trying to work on applying the nng patch but since 59.00.443 doesn't allow for SSH and there's no NNG patch available for this version I still have to find a way to get it to work.

Current idea is: download file using USB stick. See if we can have it patched (either by asking the original NNG patch author or loading the file in the disassembler and trying to figure out myself what to patch) and upload the file back to the Mazda. Question here: does someone whether replacing the nng file with a corrupt version can cause a bootloop? If not, great, then I can keep trying :)

Thanks championway for the instructions. I followed them precisely and tried about 10 times now. No luck, the tweaks applied screen is not showing up and the CMU is not rebooting. No copied file is present in the config folder.

Are there any requirements for the USB Stick (using a FAT32 formatted 64gb now)? Any other tips?

Hi Championway,
I can't get the navi working,

Vehicle: MAZDA 3 13 SKYACTIV-G (BM)

The following steps have been taken:
Firmware updates following steps on mazdacmuhacksdotcom
21.00.000 (EU) to 31.00.100A to 56.00.511A (EU)

Downloaded ALL needed files provided by you over multiple forum topics here (obviously I tried only working with the files who were mentioned together and not randomly combining) :
*HMFEUR2014Q2 maps (.rar parts from Mega)
*JCI_NNG_Tool_v2.30_FOR_EU_ALL_IN_ONE, which includes StepOneDownloadNNG, StepTwoUploadNNG, EU_CID, License, JCI_NNG_Tool and readme file
*Not Used EU files, being the 2 cardnotused files and lyc-file

Created a 2.0 USB 8 GB Fat32 disk
Did the trick with the StepOne files to Root (confirmed by car CMU)
Got the 'jci-linux_imx6_volans-release' file from config folder
Used the NNG_tool to patch (CID and tool from downloaded files mentioned above)(jci-linux_imx6_volans-release_[v56.00.511A-EU__v56.00)
Reformatted the USB drive and copied all files from StepTwo on there (Root again)
Renamed patched file back to 'jci-linux_imx6_volans-release' and copied this to the config folder on USB drive
Inserted USB in the car and after message 'complete' and reboot took it out again.

Created a FAT32 SDHC 8GB card where I then copied the HMFEUR2014Q2 maps on.
Inserted the lyc-file from notUsed files in license folder of SD card.
Replaced both cardnotused files by the downloaded ones.

Did try this also with the files (Mazda Navigation Instruction Rev.2) provided by tony619, but the result stays the same; Navi starts, but immediatly says invalid SD card.

I do have one question, does it matter how your SD card is named, for example "sd eu 2016"?

BR,
Bart

OK,

got it working!

Had a few issues going on apparently ...
*one thing you need to do for version 56.005xx and above is ssh bring back tweak and then repeat StepOne and StepTwo process
*I renamed the patched file, but I had to adapt the extension of the file as well, so just renaming is not enough

curiously, I have 3 different mappacks, but managed to get only one of them running
one gave 'invalid SD card'
one only blue arrow
third try went as it should :)

now up for some testing
thanks for the support!

The car was purchased in North America and I live in Europe (Poland). I changed from the soft to the EU on 51.00.300 56.00.512 and everything works well without radio tuner. The display I have a whole range of FM 87.7 - 108 programs, only the frequency of NA odd and moved from 87.7 - 107.3 90.0.Now work program 98.2. For manual tuning only 87.7 - 90.0 and higher frequencies can not be set. I changed to the latest 59.00.443C EU (Europe) and grancenote on 07 of the EU and is still a problem with the radio.
Maybe you have an idea ??
