DD tracker,
who says your commute in the mountains has to be boring?

Welcome to the internet. A wonderful place where no race, gender, political view, or mental state will leave unharmed.

In between 1 and 4, it all depends on my budget. I definitely want it to be different enough from bone stock so its at least noticeable.

This car is staying basically stock for me as my daily driver. I don't need another DD hobby car, gets very expensive!

For a race car, you are going to swap all or most of bakes component, suspension, wheels, bushings, will take and tear up 90% of interior for weight reduction, and so on.... Therefore To me an older high mileage sport car is the best rout to go. A brand new car, definitely a no no!

Now there are a lot of ppl whom take their daily drives to autoX events, and those ppl are the ones end up buying mazdaspeed, and more powered cars, not the fuel efficient oriented mazda3.
Skip Barber racing school uses stock 2.0 mazda3....

As for the autocross, there are all kinds of cars there. I've seen a slushbox all stock dodge neon and a ford f 150 truck once.

I find none of the options describe what I am doing. Obviously this is my daily driver its the brand new efficient car however I am modding it so I can run in the local SCCA races as well as compete in car audio competitions in sound quality. I wouldn't call her a garage queen because well I don't have a garage but it gets detailed every week like a garage queen would and will not be driven in the snow or salt "that's what my old truck is for". So basically im building a functional daily driver that handles good and sounds good that stays really clean. lol

Heck, I ran my Accord station wagon support vehicle once, just for shits & giggles. It won its class!

Autocross, for the most part, has pretty simple rules of entry: If it has four wheels, we'll find a class for it to run in.
