What route are you taking with your Mazda 3?

What route are you taking with your Mazda 3?

1. Daily driver and or bone stock car (Daily driven all day every day...racking up the miles yo!)

2. Track beast, because race car (Tearing up the track...never street racing of course because that's bad...)

3. Garage queen...its like that?! (I am gonna preserve this car as much as possible and keep her in the garage, avoiding adding any miles to her)

4. Show car/magazine cover pursuer (I want a hard parking, crowd pleasing, hellaflush, canibeat. etc. ride yah feel me?!)

Just curious what some people are planning on doing to their 3?

I am going with #1.
She will be my daily driver, and stock for the most part. (all my mods are minimal anyways, just tint, shift knob, mirror, etc)
Now my plans may change, but for now I am on this road.

2014 PRHT Crystal White Pearl Club (MT)

This will be my daily driver. That doesn't mean I won't be having some fun with it. There will be mods - I'm not really one for leaving a car bone-stock for very long. I'm more for having the mods be subtle and well-hidden. Sleepers are the order of the day for me!

It will be my daily driver. But I am also going to mod it a bit. Have a set of 16" winter wheels looking for some decent summer wheels.

2014 Soul Red Mazda3 Sport.
mods: RHO Plate, 16" DAI Gloss Black Target Wheels(winter), 17" Enkei FD-05 with black finish wheels (summer), 20% tint on rear windows,

I don't think there's that much extra potential with the skyactiv engine. It already operates at a high compression ratio so forced induction mods are more or less out of the question.

I dont think any one would ever considering buying a brand new mazda3 to turn it into a race car.
For a race car, you are going to swap all or most of bakes component, suspension, wheels, bushings, will take and tear up 90% of interior for weight reduction, and so on.... Therefore To me an older high mileage sport car is the best rout to go. A brand new car, definitely a no no!

Now there are a lot of ppl whom take their daily drives to autoX events, and those ppl are the ones end up buying mazdaspeed, and more powered cars, not the fuel efficient oriented mazda3.

Not necessarily true.

1) Lots of race teams use brand new cars, because of progress. Today's Mazda3 will likely outdo a Porsche 944 of 25 years ago in most categories, and racing teams want whatever's best for the series they're going into - and every car has some kind of race it can do.

2) Autocrossers know that whatever you bring out, you can find a class to run it in. I've seen people show up in bone-stock Honda Accords and Chrysler LeBarons and run them. I've seen stock Minis on street tires win their class, easily. Autocrossing isn't all about power or hotrodding - it's about driving skill.

I may well take my 3 to the autocross. What I won't do is build it into a kidney-punishing track beast. I've been down that road before, and ended up with a class-winning "street" car that nobody would want to drive on an actual street!
