1. I just copy the video player files over, don't need to run anything?

2. What codec did you use for your mp4 file? I've tried about 4 different ones to no avail

you could open the tweak.sh with an editor... maybe you have another version with another filename for the video??
normaly you need only these on the usb and the video file...

2 i cant answer this... i only knew a problem with a youtube converter for firefox i used...every other mp4 runs perfectly

I've read in various threads/posts that some who have enabled the touchscreen speed tweak (via USB) have not had the compass stop changing direction.

Is there any consensus on losing the compass direction, or is this a random event?

Is it possible to update the system if its currently in bootloop? Also will connecting the infotainment to an ethernet cable directly to the router a good way to fix bootloop? Got mine under bootloop I can't get it to connect to my phone's hotspot.

i think there must something more different...

i just try the installation manual without the script but it does not show the speedometer app..
so i mess around and stuck again in the startanimation...

ok nothing too bad, just copied the original files back to the system and everything fine.. but i dont get the speedometer working

maybe there is a difference in the version?? i use v33

i did everything exactly like serezhka mentioned in the post 2528...


another interessting fact.. i just restore the original sm.conf but nothing happend.. i restore the opera folder and the stage_wifi too and "babumm" system starts correct

i think there is something wrong with the opera-part... maybe the activation of userscripts??

also in your usb-script i see the reset_board="no" is correct so there MUST be a difference at another place.. i used your script as well as i used the manual instructions
after your script i stuck in the animation after the manual instruction i see nothing -.-

I think the speedometer not apear because you forgot the line in opera.ini like User Script=1 and Allow XMLHttp request=1....

Newest Auto USB script of mine, i improve it, and now it speedometer equal the car speed....

Do you still want to view and test my Auto USB Install Script again? If YES, i will send link the newest scipt to you for download. My car using 51.00.350 ADR version, so i think you must upgrade the Mazda Connect OS to latest firmware like 55.00.753 and then test my script...

What about running the Speedometer on a smartphone, connected via WiFi to the system.Then we could mount it on the dashboard as a additional display.

I had already mirrored the MZD to my Android phone with V33. The basic operations like selecting a menue were working. But e.g. the navi screen was not mirrored.

Anyway, I think this would be a great solution without harm the MZD.

Hi guys! I'm still in the process of backreading (currently at page 80) but I have a kinda urgent question to ask.

I live in the Philippines. My friend just recently upgraded to the NA V55.0.753. Unfortunately it seems that this update did some bad things to the FM display. On one of the pages here I read that some users in Latin America also ran into this issue. It looks like NA FM stations are separated by increments of .9 but elsewhere (except Japan maybe) they are separated in increments of .1. This means that radio frequency 89.9 is displayed as 97 something.

- Is there any way to check what region we're using? EU looks like a good bet because of the .1 increments.
- I read somewhere on this thread that there is a script tweak that fixes this. Has anyone made this work?

Hi all, please i have a big problem i tried to install the speedometer manually so i followed the steps given by @serezhka.

i have everything right, but after the reboot with Mute + Nav + Back, its still hang on the Mazda logo, impossible to do anything, i tried to recover bakcup files but unable to connect to the system and I can handle anything.

I disconnect the battery 2 hours to return the system to zero but the problem continues

you have a solution to reset without manipulating the screen ?

please help meee

hi guys, just to update you all the video playback thing that i was doing has been very successful.
wanted to capture video for you to view unfortunately phone no battery.

here the feature, and tested running very well already :smile2:
- no longer require the USB auto run tweak
- can generate video list menu from your USB drive
- can start / stop playback anytime

current limitation;
- the stop playback is really stop, not pause, so if play the same video again it will start from beginning
- no seek time
- it is using gst-launch; whatever that limited by gst-launch

coming up;
- final "touch up" coding
- use mobile to control the playback. you can see the same video list in your mobile and can click to start/stop playback (yes, 99% this can be done already :laugh2: )


will upload video in few hours later.

hohoho, now i can go sleep already, it's 5 in the morning.

Wifi?? You will have to use the USB to ethernet cable to ssh into the CMU. Guys, if you don't know what you are doing, you shouldn't.

usually i use wifi and with sharing connection from my smartphone i log ssh, but now wifi is disabled i will use ethernet adapter but what ip i have to put for connection ? and i think i have not much time to replace files because the system reboot all the time

when you see the logo the system is NOT rebooting

you got the same like me... read.. get into the system.. copy the original sm.conf and opera files back and the system is running again

problem is the old version of our systems... for speedometer and other apps you NEED v55+
i believe if you still hear the pdc or fm radio... change volume etc... the only thing that happend.. the opera framework failed while loading the opera.ini

it is an issue with the userscript loading...


edit.. if you had not touch the battery, wifi still is an option...but now you need usb-ethernet adapter

i had the line..but the opera version in v33 seems to be not able to load user scripts probably... i update my car on monday and try the installation again... i think it is really opera engine or something... i believe after update to v55+ everything work fine

and then i try to enable the idm-app wich is already on the system

I can launch the "APP" on my smartphone, but the value is generated by the DBUS command and written into a text file onto the MZD (that's why you need to mount the system as read/write).
If I will run the "APP" on my smartphone, how can I get the value without creating the text on the MZD? It must be a local file on my smartphone.
