can somebody help me please,

i tried to install Android Auto 0,91
The installation finished and asked me to reboot, i press ok reboot.
After that, my infotainment doesn't start at all!Comes jus the Mazda Boot Logo, i can hear the FM, but i can not change it, and in the reverse, the reverse Camera does function.

I tried to connect (SSH) to the Infotainment with macbook, apple usb to Ethernet, and Router. In My Router i see no new ip address that connects. I can't se my Mazda infotainment, i doesn't connect at all, no 1 or 2 sec.
I Don't know if it reboots, but i think not, because in the reverse mode with the camera on, i have no stop from the camera!!

Does my infotainment eventually not recognize the apple Usb to Ethernet or it doesn't start at all and thats the reason i can not se i connect to my router.

Have you tried using an usb to recover. I mean a drive with some code?

Like the tweaks?
Could you send the tweak you applied? I was looking to apply this until I saw your post .

Also, what FW version do you have? What other tweaks did you applied?

Got into the boot loop after a tweak

Hi,

I got into the boot loop problem where it keeps in loading Mazda logo for 15 sec. and restarts.

This happened after I tried to change the radio frequency by editing the /jci/settings/configurations/maz_cmu-root.xml file.

This is what I have done.

<Node key="cmu">
<!-- Region: 1-EU, 2-NA, 3-4A, 4-ChinaTaiwan, 5-JP -->
<Node key="Region" data="S16" value="1"/>

<Node key="LanguageMax" data="S16" value="3"/>

<Node key="LanguageDisplayStrings" data="String" value="US English;Japanese"/>
<Node key="LanguageVRStrings" data="String" value="US English;Japanese"/>
<Node key="LanguageGuidanceRecordedyStrings" data="String" value="US English;Japanese"/>
<Node key="LanguageGuidanceTTSStrings" data="String" value="US English;Japanese"/>
<Node key="KeyboardLanguageStrings" data="String" value="US English;Japanese"/>
I changed the Region from 5 to 1 above and the Language from Japanese to US English.
It was originally kept as below.

<Node key="KeyboardLanguageStrings" data="String" value="Japanese;ABC"/>
Then I kept the backup and removed the /tmp/mnt/data/com/jci/cpp/settings/*.bin file to make effect the changes.
e.g. F43AC577.bin

After the reset applied I got into the boot loop issue which even not let me to rollback the changes what I have done using an uninstall script :(
I believe changing the Language Japanese to US English rather than ABC might introduced a bug.

It seems it get rebooted before USB get recognized and I only can hear the radio but blue tooth pairing not working as well.

I don't see I can get into the diagnoze mode by pressing the Star+Music and Mute button.
I had a USB adapter but it seems not recognize an IP in my router.

Till I get one ordered I believe I don't have any other options here.
If anyone experience this by applying this fix please reply so I know I can recover the infotainment system.

One thing I'm worried about where this get into hard brick which there is no chance for me to recover this?
Previously I recovered using a rollback script when I applied the video player e.g. changes to Omini file.. but since this is not responsive for that I'm bit worried.

which part should need to replace if boot loop failed to recover

Can anyone let me know which part(s) I need to replace if the system is in boot loop and not able to recover.

I guess only the CMU control panel(A) (see attachment) which attached to the display would be enough but no need for the display(b)..

Do we need to have both display and the CMU controller?

Appreciate your reply if anyone has replaced this successfully due to boot loop failure..

A should do it but if you have both a & B you could do them together and send me your old ones :).....

if you know what to change and to do, then maybe you can help this article.

Thanks Xeno..
I went through the article and it seems a very good guide to try out and really promising. Thanks for sharing this.

However, I'm looking to get the USB to serial cable which I couldn't find in local store yet so hope my e-bay order get delivered soon.

One question though when you setup the connection and put the putty sessions for serial connection and how you find the IP?
is 192.168.0.63 is the always default IP for the CMU over this connection or u find it by different tool?

You are connecting over the serial port so no IP. Just point Putty or any serial program (RealTerm, etc.) to the serial COM port that is configured when you plug in the USB serial cable to your PC.
Here is a thread where this is discussed a bit also - http://mazda3revolution.com/forums/...zda-3-skyactiv-audio-electronics/57714-infotainment-project-17.html#post1631825
