Ha! Local dealer here in Knoxville, TN had a $1700 markup and refused to let my wife test drive one. Can you believe it? She told the salesman to his face "This is B#@$ SH#$!" Love that woman. Next morning we drove to Nashville about an hour and a half away, took turns test driving it, then bought a red 2010 without tech for 23.1k. They were fantastic at that dealership. Very nice. We traded in her 2007 3s Touring, still worth $1000 more than we owed. Finance guy said he was just relieved to get a trade-in that they could actually sell. They have a parking lot full of clunkers the govt hasn't paid for yet. So the dealership can make a BIG difference. Don't let your local dealership bully you. A markup in this economy? You gotta be kidding me.
