Default Insurance quote... kinda interesting

So I went to a Chevy dealership last saturday and was wondering if they knew what the gear ratios were for the 6spd Corvette LT3. I took a look at one with options that I wanted and saw it was around $56,000 without negotiations. I always thought they were higher than that and the crazy thing is on the highway the epa estimates 26mpg (apparently it runs as a 4cyl when cruising) and that kinda makes me cry when looking at the Mazda 3.

So for shits and giggles I decided to quote insurance on one. I'd heard that insurance was rediculous on these things and wanted to see for myself. I have insurance through USAA and I'm paying 72.00/month for insurance on my Mazda with the following coverages

100,000 per person 300,000 per accident Bodily Injury
100,000 per accident Property Damage
500.00 deductibles comp/collision
Same limits uninsured/underinsured
30.00/day 900.00 max rental re-imbursement
50.00 towing/labor re-imbursement

For the corvette I kept the same amount of coverages but replaced the mazda with it and changed it from 12,000 miles to 20,000 miles annually and from 9 miles each way to 20 miles each way for work. My monthly premium was........ $84.00

Seriously... WTF eh? And that's with a point counting against me. That makes me cry and I think I know what my next car will be.
