I am attempting not to have the pissing contest over oil changes with Mazda. I do purchase their filters, supply the filter and oil to a local shop and let them deal with the disposal and mess. This method also gives me an invoice that records the oil change milage for my records.
Interesting...I drove a 2003 Saab 9-3 ARC 6spd manual for several years (75K) before selling it. I drove that thing hard and changed the synthetic oil every 12-15K, as recommended and never had a problem.
