updated pictures in first post. Im now lowered on an eibach pro kit from the first gen. had some issues immediately after install. i chose to save a few bucks and go to a small time tire shop, and i wish i hadnt. long story short, it was pulling left for 2 weeks after install. they kept messing with it a slight bit every few days i brought it in complaining. finally made an appointment with soulspeed, they showed me where the right side was waaayy off camber and left side was closer to good, but still not perfect. so they got me a real alignment and its so much better! learned my lesson! anyway, check out the pics, let me know whats up, comments, advice. i think wheels are next, but thats a very large purchase for me, with money that could go a long way towards other parts. such as wheel spacers mudflaps and window visors.

I'd answer "go" and wager "for it" (if you don't catch the SNL reference, just leave it be)...the wheels, that is. I'd always wondered what a drop would make my car look like w/ the stock wheels, because that was the flow of my imaginary mod timeline. Since I didn't get a good view of your car from the side today (and standing still) my only reaction is to say that the pics make the car look goofy and incomplete. I'd say take your time and get a set of wheels that makes you smile. If you get all that other stuff, it may just make your car look tacky w/ a bunch of add-ons (too common, especially in South Austin haha)...a nice set of wheels make you the real deal and really make this car look that much more aggressive. If my 3 weren't relegated to strictly DD duties right now, I'd probably be looking in that direction too. Also, why do I only see you when I have my racks on?? :P

lol, thanks. i agree on the goofy look. i was thinking spacers would relieve some of that, if i chose to not get wheels first. ive been waiting for the perfect wheels for cheap. i hate paying full price. full price wheels plus the cost of new rubber and im gonna be out almost as much as ive put into the car so far on mods. but then again im f@#$ing tired of rolling 16" stocks. and even with spacers i still wouldnt be happy. if i come across a sweet deal i might spring for wheels and keep saving for tires.

What wheels are you thinking of getting? IMO the stock tires aren't worth two 's. I set off the traction control today on a mild 1-2 shift. I can't wait to get rid of them, but the car only has 22k and I'd like to use them before I can justify buying a whole new set

i dont have anything really specific in mind yet. havent been seriously thinking about narrowing it down for very long. but im thinking 7 spoke black with chrome. possibly solid black, and possibly solid gunmetal. 17" maybe 18.

I would do a solid color wheel, and (since you're lowered, to save weight, and to save $ on tires and mpg's) go with a 17" wheel. This well help minimize performance loss due to the heavy a/m cast wheel factor. If you can spring for the extra $ involved, go with a lightweight forged wheel (ie wedsport, work, etc) and you might actually see/feel performance benefits. car is lookin good btw
