Thanks, that was actually the remnants of Hurricane Isabel in 2003. It made for a beautiful backdrop.

Sorry about your dog. Did adopting a new one help out? Everytime I think of my dogs getting cancer or dying for any reason I tear up. I'd probably be a mess if either of them died.

lost my dog in december, he was 12, had intestinal cancer. got real skinny, lost bowel control, it was time. now only the puppy is left, she's just now finally able to be outside by herself.

It was SO hard to make the desicion to put her down. Our vet was willing to come to our house to do it. I was holding her in my arms as she passed. She was looking at me and there was nothing but love there. It's sad, but also, it was so nice to watch that pain leave her. It was very peaceful.

Sorry, I don't want to be a downer. Losing a pet is never easy. They are always there for you. Unconditionally. And so we all give them the best life we can, right?

Yes, adopting a new one helped. I felt guilty at first. But, then realized there are so many animals out there that need good homes and I had an opening in mine. Sydney is the absolute opposite of Durango, personality-wise. Durango was independent (as most Husky's are), Sydney is in constant need of a belly rub (as most Aussie's are).

I love them both so much I can't even explain it.

*sniff* very sad. don't even wanna think 'bout losin either pup. and that's why i've only seen Marley And Me ONCE.

I didn't go anywhere near that movie...Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows traumatized me as a kid. I can't watch/read about that kind of stuff.

All this talk of dogs and I haven't even mentioned my 3 cats - Chloe, Piper and Phoebe. here are pictures of them...oh, and one more of Syd on her adoption day.
