Default Versions of cars you'd like to see.

Just wondering if you guys like models that are currently on the market, but wished there were higher-performance or more luxurious trim levels offered on those models? Here are a few I'd like to see:

Hyundai Elantra Touring Turbo: Love the looks and packaging of this Euro-slick wagon, but needs more power. Nothing the Genesis Coupe's engine couldn't fix. A nav option would be nice, too.

Kia Soul Turbo: Insert above engine, and drive aggressively...enjoy.

Ford Fusion SVT/SHO: Either the SHO's 3.5 EcoBoost, or a 300-ish horsepower turbo 2.5 and AWD would make this midsizer the enthusiast's choice.

Chevy Camaro DMX: This one is a little "out there" admittedly, but I still think it would be cool. Take the 4.5 Duramax diesel slated for the half-ton trucks and shoehorn it under the hood of the Camaro. 520 lb./ft. of torque and 30 mpg highway. What's not to like?

As long as they improved on the current "Sport" version of the Fusion...adding much more aggressive styling cues in addition to the 3.5 ECO I would consider selling my 3 for one. You could not give me a Kia Soul. The Camaro would be funny...even a turbo would be cool.

I would have liked more options on my 3i touring, like a GT version. I wanted the smaller 2.0 liter engine but would have liked a sunroof, keyless start, ambient lighting, led taillights, etc... Don't get me wrong I LOVE my 3, but I would have paid a bit more for some cooler stuff!

2009 Mazdaspeed Miata, 2.0 turbo with a 6-speed and 220 hp. Maybe some weight reduction to bring it down to 2300-2400 lbs. That would be a FUN car.

I agree...give better gas but with the luxury features. Though i dont mind all the added torque of the 2.5L

+1 on this.

I'd say a supercharged 2 door revised RX8, 300 HP on the present chassis.

Factory turbo-charged Ferrari F430 Scuderia. I guess 700 HP would be fairly easy?

4WD 2011 MazdaSpeed Mazda 3 with the current revised 2.5 Turbocharged and longitudinally mounted (and a better looking hood scoop, boys, don't hate me, I can digest it, but I'd rather see something "prettier")?

A "carbon-aluminum" package for my 93 RX7: Carbon Fiber chassis to transfer the entire car into. Carbon fiber front and rear subframe. Carbon fiber suspension arms front and back. Carbon fiber driveshaft, carbon fiber rims, seats, hatch, doors, hood and fenders. Also, a full aluminum engine (aluminum side housings, aluminum rotors). This would drop about 400 lbs to 2300. With a safe setup and 340 at the crank I'll be at 1hp pushing 6.75 lbs...

An "Accord V6" powered S2000 (275 hp and some decent torque to beef the thing up).

A supercharged Alfa Romeo 8c.

OK, ok, I'll stop here...

Well, I don't know if you guys heard, but supposedly Mazda is coming out with a dramatically more fuel-efficient 2.0L on 2011 models. They're talking in the neighborhood of 32 mpg city and 42 highway. And this is a GAS engine! Even though I naturally gravitate to the largest, most powerful engine option available in a given model, I agree that offering the 2.0 in the 5-door would be a worthwhile option for many consumers.

Would there be a 4-door version too?

Notice he said it would be nice to have the option in the 5-door. We don't even know if that's going to happen. If there is a new 2.0 coming out next year, there's a better chance of it beiing in the 3i sedans.
