There was a life before Mazda 3

We're all discussing about our Mazda 3, but do you remember what you were driving before?

For me it began in 1988 (must be 18 to have a driver licence) when I bought my first car.

A terrific Mazda 323 of 1980.

I hope you've noticed all efforts made to improve this car : fog and high beam headlights, rear spoiler, inside thermometer, rev counter, JPS stickers, ... LOL

With its 1.3L developping an incredible amount of 60HP and a fantastic gearbox with 4 speed and another to go backwards. It was, ... my first car .

And then in 1990 I felt in love with :

It's not mine as I can't find pic's of it anymore but it was the same colour, same dark windows, same everything exept wheels.
I got really good times with it but I destroyed it after 4 years when I felt down and landed on a tree.

Thanks to my dealer (he gives me a car during 3 month for free without any promiss that I would buy a new car or a used one at his garage !!!!! )

I bought this one (wait 4 month 4 it ) :

It was my favourite but I could only kept it for 3.5 years as my wife was pregnant for a 2nd timel
Its trunk was really too small to put everything you need with 2 little child.

So I had to change it with

Mazda 626 2.0L TDVI (diesel powered) Break

A good comfortable car full of space. I drove it for 7.5 years and 250.000 km or 155.000 miles

It was the first time that I kept a car for such a long time (4 me) and I finally found my Winning blue metallic 2005 3

And you what's your story, have you been as faithfull to Mazda?

the day i got my license at 17 i got this car

1990 Lexus LS400 - i had like 250,000 miles on this car. my dad made me get rid of it







so i end up with this - 2004 mazda 3 GT - the rarest color of all lava orange

My dad used to drive FORD but when the (as knonw in Europe) Sierra models went out he didn't like it as he compared it to an egg. Naturely when I want to buy my 1st car we've asked his dealer if he got a good, cheap, used car. That's how it begon. My dad was invited by Mazda for the pre-launch of the new 323 series in '89 as he was director of a big cie using Mazda trucks. I felt in love with the F version.
You already know the rest. Always like Mazda as it's always/often different of other cars, I don't appreciate to drive everybody's car and Mazda offers it to me with an incredible reability and at moderate cost.
What were you driving before Axela & Josh? Even if it wasn't Mazda lol. Post some pic's.

P.S. : does this story worth a M3R t-shirt, if there is still some left? ? ;-)

Waouw Axela , it's a great car to begin a driver's carreer. Even if I prefer your lava orange, that was cool, wasn't it?

yes i miss that lexus i had, you couldnt believe the power it had. 4.0 V8 250hp RWD, times got tough with it, and gas was going up so i had to think smart and get a economical car. it was funny because when i was looking at the 3 i was like its not bad, i'll get the cheapest one they got which was liek 11 grand when they first came out. then when i saw the lava orange and it came with factory hid's i was like its 20 grand. my dad was like i dont like mazda get a nissan or a lexus. I did my homework showed him that the price of this car was more practical and it had just as much features as a luxury car for almost half the cost! when my dad saw it up close he said it was okay and he let me get the car with his help co-signing for me cuz i couldnt get it on my own cuz my credit wasnt great. but i do have some old pics of my car somwhere when i first got it. i gotta find it.

as for tshirts, there are none left right now, but we do need a new logo and theme for the new shirt. i have an idea on that.. just wait

What will you do in a CX-7? Even if it's a good car, you're still young. A 2010 3 will provide you much more fun don't you think Joël? Life is so short!!! Unless you already have to fill it with an army of children, like me and my 626 wagon? lol.
