Mazda Might Build A Sporty Almost-Wagon To Fight The Subaru Outback After All

Now this would be interesting for those who are looking for a little more space then the hatchback provides.

Seems it would be easier to import the AWD Mazda6 wagon they sell in Japan, Oz, and maybe Europe.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this is literally going to be the 6 wagon that's raised a little bit with some cladding thrown on (i.e. what Audi did with the allroad). Mazda is too small to go down the BMW path of ridiculous product paths with unique build requirements, so this would expand their offerings without impacting the factories too much.

This could definitely be interesting. They also claim this will sit lower than the CX-3, so it might not actually be that bad in terms of height. Worst case we can always drop it a little if needed.

I would absolutely take something like this over any Subaru.

Looks like the "CX-4" has already been spotted in the wild a couple times. Looks good to me.

Production version of Mazda Koeru Concept is the Mazda CX-4

Koeru-based Mazda CX-4 spied yet again [6 pics]

Edit: according to the reports from China, this thing is going to be powered by the turbo 2.5. I don't know if I believe that, but that's very interesting. This thing doesn't look very high at all, and it honestly strikes me as being very similar to the 6 hatch. Let the hype begin.

Very interesting...paired with the 2.5 Turbo. It wouldn't make sense to offer it in this platform if it wasn't also available in the CX-5 in the upcoming model year too.
