Unless it's the diesel, only "de-tuning" is for our lower quality fuel, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mazda kept it just to seriously bring the fight to the market.

The Speed3 has always brought a punch to the Market, Mazda isn't going to put out a crappy product that is at the bottom of line.

Not when every other car they're producing right now is getting major positive feedback from all directions.

I think it looks great too. You're all entitled to your opinions but why the dislike?
From the beginning, I described the Gen3 as "bulbous" and my opinion hasn't changed. Also, there's not much to distinguish the newer 3 from many other '14'-'15 models from other car makers. Maybe the aero designs of the new cars have become too similar. For instance, I saw a commercial for a 2015 (or 16) Toyota Camry the other night....I thought it was a Dodge Dart looking at the front end.

Cars used to have style differences that set them apart, even the econo-class like the Mazda 3....not so much any more.

You can blame that on the GTR. I believe, that was the first car to have that blacked out front end look.

The Camry looks so so with it as Toyota just threw that in to draw a sportier look. It looks forced.

I doubt the MS3 will have 320hp. Most turbo'ed 4 bangers are all under 299hp stock.

I'd have to look a bit closer if Mazda came out with a Speed6, especially if it's similar to the above pic. We love our Gen2 hatchback, but the new 6 looks pretty damn good.

I'm not American myself, but I think I have to agree with you on this. I've read a lot of complaints about the low quality (low RON value) gasoline. I can't understand why you get this low quality gas for your cars.

In Europe (The Netherlands, where I'm from) RON95 is the lowest you can get. But on a downside, I think RON95 is even more expensive than your most expensive racing fuel. (RON95 is about 3 times as expensive per galon that RON95 will cost you in the USA).

For Mazda that means they have to make sure the cars won't get damaged by people not understanding the fuel stuff. But for the more experienced people, like yourselves it only means you should get your car chipped. Compared to the rest of the world, you would probably still cost you less than it would cost me to buy a MPS.

The previous MPS start at about $50.000 in The Netherlands. So you 'could' see it as having more options to go with. It still sucks that it isn't default like that, but I wonder if you agree with that thought

You must be joking. Out of all the "econo class" cars in 2014-2014, the Mazda 3 looks and has the most premium features. Especially the sGrand Touring. My friends drive Audi's and BMW's and my 3 from the front end looks just as sharp or better. Then on the interior, it definitely looks more premium than the other Toyotas and Hondas in its class. I shopped the Mercedes CLA and Lexus ct hatch before pulling the trigger on a $28,000 non speed 3. The gen 3 3's have matured a lot, and definitely stand apart from the other cars in its class.

Every report I've read on the Gen 3 hatch and sedan have been sterling....good handling, comfortable, Car & Driver top ten list, etc. I'm glad you like your new Mazda. I hope it provides you with many miles of fun and reliable service. I don't like the new body style.....period.
