2010 Mazda 3 Interior Walkthrough

Mazda reshaped the 2010 Mazda 3 interior to evoke a more muscular interior layout with dramatic, sweeping lines across the dashboard and a controversial new split dashboard with a Multi-Information Display (MID).

Steering Wheel Controls

Sit inside a loaded 2010 Mazda 3 and prepare to be amazed by the breadth of control at your fingertips. With the redesigned steering wheel of the 2010 Mazda 3 Mazda added more functionality to what is essentially the most important part of the vehicle. New steering wheel controls include Bluetooth and audio controls on the center left, navigation system controls on the center right and cruise control options on the sides of the wheel.

A True Driver’s Car

The 2010 Mazda 3 is definitively a driver’s car. One look settles the case with a driver oriented center stack that resides at the same height as the steering wheel and shifter. This new layout will aid the driver in quickly changing audio volume, skipping through albums and adjusting heating/air conditioning controls.

The Multi-Information Display (MID) sits above the new two gauge pods and center stack with a distinctive angle towards the driver. This new display gives the driver full view of the optional navigation system, trip computer information, audio data and HVAC settings.

A Full Sensory Experience Inside

The 2010 Mazda 3 is a sensory experience all around. To start, a new interactive lighting system creates a tranquil ambiance by progressively illuminating the Mazda 3’s interior as you open the door to enter the car. Next, the backlighting of the gauge cluster, center stack, audio and climate controls all come to life. When the driver or front seat passenger make adjustments to the audio or HVAC system the lighting will change to acknowledge the adjustment.

Improved Front Seats

The seat cushions of both front seats have been extended almost an inch to provide greater thigh support (excellent news for road trippers!) and the backrests have been contoured and lengthened by 1.4-inches to improve driving posture. Top tier Mazda 3s will also receive more side bolstering in the backrests to help keep you in place during aggressive cornering.

Other additions include a three-position memory function power seats with a driver’s seat that automatically adjusts to your driver setting by recognizing the key fob. The 2010 Mazda 3 also features soft-touch surfaces throughout to create a more inviting and enjoyable cabin experience.

2010 Mazda 3 buyers looking for the latest and greatest in comfort and technology will be right at home in the second generation Mazda 3 with its optional Bose 10-speaker premium surround sound system, Bluetooth, iPod dock, dual climate control, advanced keyless entry system with push button start, heated side mirrors and Sirius satellite radio.

The new features are offered alongside the first generation Mazda 3’s exceptional luxury options including rain-sensing wipers, leather upholstery and heated seats. One difference between the first and second generation Mazda 3: the heated seats now have multiple settings (i.e. 1-3) as opposed to the one setting available in 2004 – 2009 Mazda 3s.
