2010 Mazda3
You never know what will happen when you go on vacation so bring a camera! WorldCarFans.com reader Michael Cervantes managed to capture new pictures of the 2010 Mazda3 prototype driving along a desert highway and in the process unveiled some previously unknown features for the upcoming Mazda3.
First, what we do know. Previous spy photos of the 2010 Mazda3 have clued us in to the following certainties about the next generation model:
• The 2010 Mazda3 will offer a six speed manual transmission.
• Select 2010 Mazda3 models will have an MP3 hard drive option available.
• The 2010 Mazda3’s interior will borrow heavily from the 2009 Mazda6’s interior.
• There are a few more in-car features controllable via steering wheel controls.
• The base engine in the Mazda3 i models is expected to be either the current 2.0L or the s-line’s 2.3L while the s-line is expected to receive the 2.5L 4-cylinder from the 2009 Mazda6.
• Mazda has integrated turn signals into the corners of the mirrors on the 2010 Mazda3 (s GT?).
What’s new, and something we’ve speculated on before, is the photo below which appears to have a button next to the door lock on the driver’s door. In many cars with advanced keyless entry systems (Infiniti, BMW etc.) you simply walk up to your car, press the button to unlock the doors and get inside and press the “Start” button to start the car. While it’s unknown exactly how this system would work on the Mazda3, the photo below gives a pretty good indicator that such a system will be available in the 2010 Mazda3.

The 2010 Mazda3 will be officially revealed by Mazda at the L.A. Auto Show in November.
