Are These Toy Car Molds of the 2010 Mazda3?

Renderings and spy shots of the 2010 Mazda3 have been coming out in rapid succession lately with our list of 2010 Mazda3 renderings and specs for the all new model stealing the auto news spotlight over the past few months.
New photos of what is apparently a toy car mold of the 2010 Mazda3 have created quite a stir over at CarSpyShots.net [via Autoblog] revealing a much more evolutionary style for the new Mazda3. The toy mold shows off a lightly touched version of the current rear end design and a face lifted front end that looks a little more futuristic and gives the bumper a smiling mini CX-7/Mazda6 hybrid look.
What’s probably the most controversial difference between the current Mazda3 model and the photos of the toy mold are the stretched headlight structures, pulling back to the mid-point of the hood and quarter panels and flattened grille area adorning the Mazda badge.
Autoblog reader “Nellydesign” notes:
Please note that these are Orthographic Perspective views meaning the perspective is dead flat. That causes the parts of the model that are further away to look bigger and distorts the model. Orthographic views are usually used for engineering purposes and shouldn’t be taken as indicitive of how the car would look in a real life setting.
Our Take: If this is in fact the 2010 Mazda3 then we think it looks good, albeit very evolutionary, and are a little disappointed that Mazda didn’t take a more aggressive stance on revising the hot-selling Mazda3 for the 2010 model year. We’re still waiting on the final specs of the new Mazda3 including what, if any, luxury options will be added to the revised model.
